Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Introduction

Laravel Serbia ("we", "our", or "us") is a nonprofit developer community. This policy covers laravel.rs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, and other contact details when you register for events or subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Technical and Security Data: IP addresses and request information used to deliver the website, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors. Newsletter signup records may also include the signup IP address, source, and subscription status.
  • Account and Submission Data: Account details, profile information you provide, contact messages, talk proposals, and sponsorship applications. Passwords are stored as hashes.
  • Event Registration Data: Information related to meetup registrations and attendance.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process event registrations and manage attendance
  • Send newsletters and event notifications
  • Improve our website and services
  • Communicate with you about community activities
  • Comply with legal obligations

Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who assist with hosting, email delivery, storage, and operational monitoring, and Cloudflare for website delivery and protection against abuse
  • Legal authorities when required by law
  • Event sponsors (only with your explicit consent)

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Subject to the conditions in applicable data protection law, you may:

  • Access your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Unsubscribe from our communications
  • Object to processing of your information or request that processing be restricted
  • Request data portability where applicable
  • Withdraw consent for processing based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
  • Lodge a complaint with Serbia's Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection at poverenik.rs

Cookies and Browser Storage

Cookies are small records stored by your browser. We use session and security cookies to keep the website working, protect forms, and support sign-in. We do not use advertising cookies or install Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on this website.

  • Laravel session cookies: laravel-serbia-session and an associated cookie with a generated name maintain session state. On the public website, these cookies currently expire after two hours and may be renewed as you use the site.
  • Form protection: XSRF-TOKEN helps protect requests against cross-site request forgery. It currently has a two-hour lifetime and may be renewed with your session.
  • Cloudflare bot protection: __cf_bm helps distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. Cloudflare specifies an expiry after 30 minutes of inactivity. Depending on the security checks applied, Cloudflare may also store challenge-related cookies such as cf_clearance. See Cloudflare's cookie documentation for their purposes and lifetimes.
  • Remember me: If you select this option when signing in, a cookie whose name begins with remember_web_ keeps you signed in between visits. Its configured lifetime is up to 400 days; signing out removes it from that browser.
  • Appearance storage: flux.appearance is a local-storage entry, not a cookie. The website currently sets it to dark when pages load. It controls appearance and is not used for advertising or visitor identification. Local storage has no automatic expiry and remains until overwritten or cleared.

Under Article 160 of Serbia's Electronic Communications Law, storage or access strictly necessary for communication or a service you explicitly request is exempt from prior consent. This exemption does not cover every use of browser storage. Optional tracking would require an appropriate consent choice before activation; continuing to browse is not consent.

You can inspect or delete cookies and local storage through your browser's site-data controls. Blocking session or security cookies may prevent sign-in or forms from working. Clearing appearance storage does not permanently disable it: the current site sets it again on a later page load.

External Services and Links

Fonts are loaded from Bunny Fonts, so your browser connects to that provider when rendering the website. Cloudflare also processes requests to deliver and protect the site. External providers may process data outside Serbia; hosting location alone does not mean all processing stays in Serbia.

Discord, Twitter/X, YouTube, and LinkedIn links take you to separate services. Clicking a link subjects your visit to that service's privacy policy. The Discord footer icon is a link, not an embedded Discord widget.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
